It's difficult to explain what cheese, well Vermont cheese in particular, means to us. As we sat around the table thinking about this category of our new & improved website, the question became, "How do we explain just how wonderful Vermont cheese is?" Then Patricia (you may hear her answer the Customer Service line from time to time) said, "I remember one Christmas when we brought Grafton's Smoked Cheddar to a friends' party and it was a huge hit. They had never had maple smoked cheese before!" Well needless to say, pretty soon everyone had a story to tell. It's at that moment that we realized that Vermont cheese is more than just cheese, it brings people together, creates memories, and makes us feel happy. And that's what life is all about, don't you think?
The sky is the limit when it comes to preparing recipes with Vermont cheese. This is one of our favorites - We grill some fresh jumbo shrimp on our George Foreman grill using fresh lemon or Key Lime juice and Maple Pepper with Habanero, then slide them on some BBQ skewers with our favorite vegetables and a cube of cheddar cheese. Admittedly it's all about presentation, but still a lot of fun because we can pair all sorts of veggies with the various flavors of Vermont cheddar, from Cabot's "south-of-the-border" Chipotle Cheddar to Grafton's Garlic Cheddar. We often prepare the skewers earlier in the day, before the BIG GAME, and then chill them and serve cold at half time or during the 7th inning stretch. Sure beats chips!!
