We recommend Grade A Medium Amber for all round use. You'll often find unique syrup
bottle shapes throughout Vermont gift shops filled with Medium Amber grade.
We offer Dark Amber and Vermont Fancy grades as well, but a lot depends on the
seasonal syrup yield.
For a more robust flavor we recommend purchasing either Grade A Dark Amber or better yet,
Grade B Syrup if it's available. Keep in mind though, not all Grade B is the same.
If the maple trees start to bud at the end of the sugaring season,
the resulting Grade B flavor can be bitter. Therefore, it's important to find a maple producer
who is especially concerned about quality and will make certain the flavor is every bit delicious.
For a more subtle maple flavor, choose Vermont Fancy grade. Currently we are offering the
Private Reserve Syrup above in Vermont Fancy.
Vermont Fancy - Light Amber Color, Delicate Maple Bouquet. Delightfully mild maple flavor,
excellent on ice cream or on food which permits its subtle flavor to be appreciated - a gourmet choice,
and the preferred grade for candies and other maple specialties.
Grade A Medium Amber - Medium Amber Color, Distinct Maple Bouquet. Characteristic maple flavor;
most popular for all-around use.
Grade A Dark Amber - Dark Amber Color, Pronounced Maple Bouquet. Heartier maple flavor.
Popular table syrup. Close to Grade B syrup flavor.
Grade B - Often referred to as a cooking syrup, Grade B Syrup is a popular choice for
those who enjoy a hearty, robust flavor.
What's the mineral difference between Grade B maple syrup vs. Grade A?
More info...
Our Vermont maple syrup is NOT certified organic maple syrup, but it is natural with nothing added, produced in rural woodlots,
and free of additives or contaminants. There are some online retailers though, who have gone through the process and paid a fee for the
right to call their syrup organic, in our opinion simply in order to drive sales. We will not do that.
Our Vermont maple syrup is free of contaminants - that means, no formaldehyde, pesticides or chemicals. And as far as "woodland stewardship" goes,
our sugarers practice sound forestry management. It only makes sense - no maple producer would want to overtap maple trees one year, damage the trees, and
thereby not have sufficient sap yield in subsequent years.
Therefore, we stand by the sugarers who supply our maple syrup and the quality of the pure & natural Vermont maple syrup they produce
with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If the syrup you receive isn't delicious, simply let us know and we're promptly refund your
money. No need for any special "quality sticker". You have our word.
