Grade B Maple Syrup
Maple Syrup Martini
Maple Syrup Martini Cocktail
This martini is second to none!
Believe it or not, we first discovered maple syrup martinis in Key West, Florida - a long way from Vermont indeed. We, Trish and I (PIECES OF VERMONT® website owners),
were going out to meet some friends for some drinks in Key West, Florida, as Jimmy Buffet would say, "Where we spend a little bit of time." On the way out the door
we grabbed a maple syrup leaf nip
filled with Grade B maple syrup - we always have Vermont maple syrup in the house! The venue? Shanna Key
Irish Pub. It's a local's hangout away from the tourist traffic where,
"they know what a pint glass looks like." Good people. Great fish dip! Anyhow, we thought...
"Perhaps they can make us a maple syrup martini?" And they did!
After one or two tests we had a simple, yet delicious recipe that everyone wanted to try. Unfortunately we ran out of syrup.
We will tell you though, two is all you'll need! Don't let the "syrup" fool you, maple martinis are delicious, with plenty of kick that a good martini
should have. The next time you're entertaining guests or out with friends, try this Vermont cocktail. You'll see!
Here's the recipe...
You can also dip the rim ofthe glass in a little extra maple syrup, and then roll the rim in some
maple sugar
or crushed maple sugar candy to give the glass a little decoration. YUM!!!
