For a long time Vermont Fancy was the preferred table syrup grade, but in recent years we've seen a
shift. People are now opting for the robust flavor of Grade B as their "all-purpose" cooking and table syrup.
We're pleased to offer what we're certain is the finest Grade B maple syrup, produced by local sugarers here in
Northern Vermont. Our syrup is not "certified" organic maple syrup (more below),
but it is 100% pure and natural maple syrup free of additives or contaminants produced in rural sugarbush woodlots.

Why is Vermont maple syrup the best?
Although our syrup is NOT certified organic maple syrup, Vermont maple syrup is pure & natural
maple syrup because it is produced from maple sap harvested from wild maple trees. The sap is boiled down
without additives or preservatives. Vermont has the strictest standards for maple syrup in the U.S., and maple tap hole
disinfectants are illegal. Vermont's guildlines for maple sugaring also ensures that there are no pesticides used in the management of
"sugarbushes", also called maple groves. In fact, most Vermont sugar-makers have a forestry plan in place which is
overseen by a registered/licensed forester. The forester goes into the woods and marks trees to be cut so that the maple
trees will get maximum sunlight to enhance the sap flow. The wood from culled trees very often is recycled in the evaporator used to

Vermont sugar-makers take a great deal of pride in making 100% pure and natural maple syrup.
Because most sugarbushes encompass many acres of land and are rural by nature, there is no danger of contaminates, thereby
keeping the maple trees themselves and the sap they produce pure & natural. But, there are some retailers online who have gone through the process and paid a fee for
the right to call their syrup organic, in our opinion simply in order to drive sales. We will not do that.
There is no need to worry about formaldehyde in Vermont maple syrup. The use of formaldehyde in the
