It was a smooth transition! - On April 11, 2010 Maple City Candy owners Chad & Mary Metayer, an integral part of the PIECES OF VERMONT® website, purchased the business of Gift Baskets by Kim from Kim & Jeff Dudley. For years Kim has worked closely with Maple City Candy because their store was just a short drive away, and in fact, Chad Metayer is the candy-maker who creates all the maple sugar candy and chocolate-maple candy gifts for Gift Baskets by Kim and PIECES OF VERMONT. Therefore, nothing has really changed.

Maple City Candy owner Mary Metayer will be carrying on the wonderful business that Kim has created over the years - feel free to email Mary here. A very capable creator of quality gift baskets, maple syrup wedding favors, and maple candy wedding favors, Mary is ready for the challenge! We have every confidence that as you continue to order items from Gift Baskets by Kim, your satisfaction will be surpassed. In fact, Kim will be assisting in every facet of the transition, and also working with Maple City Candy during the busy 2010 holiday season as a temporary employee.

As part of the purchase, our Grade B maple syrup supplier will now be supplying Maple City Candy with Grade B Vermont maple syrup. So expect the same great quality Grade B syrup without interruption.

Why did Kim sell her business you ask? - Kim & Jeff Dudley were ready to move on to new adventures and Chad & Mary Metayer were ready for more Vermont gifts in their store, and since they had already been doing business together for years, it was a WIN! WIN!
